Summer Interleague Season Winding Down

August 21 marks the last bout day of the 2010 interleague season for the Dairyland Dolls and Team Unicorn. The Dairyland Dolls will head to Denver to face the Denver Roller Dolls' Mile High Club. That's No. 13 vs. No. 5 for those of you following the rankings.

But don't cry if you can't make it all the way to Colorado -- you can get your derby fix just a couple hours away in Rockford, Ill. with Team Unicorn at the Screw City Smackdown Tournament! Eight Midwest teams will duke it out double-elimination style for the win.

Bouts start at 9 a.m. at the Indoor Sports Center on Riverside Blvd. Team Unicorn's first bout starts at 10 a.m. against the G-Rap Attack from Michigan's Grand Raggidy Roller Girls. All-day tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids, and admission is knocked down to half price after 5 p.m. Kids under 5 get in free.

The Dairyland Dolls will then compete in the North Central regional tournament Sept. 10 - 12 in Green Bay, Wis. and continue on to Nationals Nov. 5 - 7 in Chicago with a top 3 placement. Can you hear the cowbells??
